An Evening With Richard Thompson

"The finest rock songwriter after Dylan the best electric guitarist since Hendrix." Los Angeles Times

Richard Thompson holds the coveted spot as Rolling Stone's top 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time and he'll be performing for ONE night at the Panida Theater in Sandpoint, ID.

This live show will be a spectacular, powered by evocative song craft, jaw-dropping guitar playing, and indefinable spirit.

Thompson has created a standout body of work. He launched his career by co-founding trailblazing rock outfit Fairport Convention in the 1960’s, responsible for igniting the British Folk Rock movement. He made impressive records with his wife Linda after that, leading to his now long acclaimed solo career. His solo albums Hand of Kindness, Rumour and Sigh and Mock Tudor remain high points of his career and fan favorites.

Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy (performing solo Panida Theater July 26) jumped at the chance to produce Thompson’s 2015’s Still - which earned plaudits from Pitchfork, The Guardian, Rolling Stone, and more. Meanwhile, Werner Herzog tapped him for the soundtrack to Grizzly Man.

His latest and 19th album, 13 Rivers, represents another high watermark.  “There are 13 songs on the record, and each one is like a river,” he explains. “Some flow faster than others. Some follow a slow and winding current. They all culminate on this one body of work. 13 Rivers is a crucible of fiery emotion... Long may he rage."  - Mother Jones

There is no opener, no band, this is just an Evening with Richard Thompson in one of the most acoustic and intimate theater settings possible. Reserve your seat now.
